Newton County, particularly the city of Covington, is a cornerstone of Georgia's film and entertainment industry.

Known as the "Hollywood of the South," Covington has hosted over 130 productions since the 1950s, including iconic titles like In the Heat of the Night, The Vampire Diaries, and Remember the Titans, drawing fans and boosting tourism.

In the past year, Newton County has welcomed high-profile productions. Georgia’s diverse locations have attracted Marvel films such as Ant-Man and Captain America: Civil War.
